The initiative for Center for Clinical Global Health Education was started by Bob Bollinger of John Hopkins who felt that improvement of medical care to patients would improve only if health care providers are trained in a better way, his initiative was to provide training by John Hopkins through Global health education through telemedicine and distance learning for healthcare providers. Bollinger said, “Don’t wait for poorly funded medical systems overseas to put discoveries into play. Do it yourself. Improve the quality of care that patients receive directly from their own health care providers.”
Online course on AIDS:Barlett and Gallant are working hard to upgrade their online courses and website with information and treatment with a vision to reach millions of patients and physicians worldwide. The idea of this online course came to them after they saw that their John Hopkins website with information on AIDS had more than 2 million hits and urgent queries from 82 countries which made them feel that there is a great gap in sharing of knowledge. Now their new online courses on AIDS and its treatment are reaching more countries that are in desperate need for solutions. “The need is real,” Bartlett says. “Our efforts to deal with AIDS on a global level have just begun. But if we’re persistent, these advances will benefit everyone, not just the lucky ones.”

CCHGE Program in India:
India accounts for 21% of the world’s global burden of disease with the life expectancy of an average Indian is still low at 62 years of age and the people is India are still largely prone to communicable diseases such as malaria, kala-azar, filariasis, dengue, tuberculosis, leprosy, and HIV/AIDS are not controlled.
John Hopkins has initiated many projects for India a program on “train-the-trainer” nursing program for HIV/AIDS care to live clinical education was organized.

During November 2004-January 2005, John Hopkins faculty presented a telemedicine training program, "Principles of Antiretroviral Therapy in HIV-Infected Patients," with a series of clinical case-based lectures and interactive discussions.

CCGHE will be organizing an intensive, interactive HIV training program at the BJ Medical College in Pune, India, in from 21st November. An 8-week course by Johns Hopkins University faculty that provides an overview of the clinical care of HIV infected persons in India which will include more than 20 live telemedicine lectures by JHU faculty for frontline Indian physicians.
