A study done by the researchers of Ohio State University say that as you lose weight with tight control in your diet, you tend to prosper as well.
The study found that the links between weight loss and wealth gain are quite strong among white female population of America. Black men and white men also gained wealth along with lost weight, but this is not particularly true for black women.
The researchers for the study are however at loss explaining how the possible association happened but they are certain that the association is very much there. The researchers have also noted that a typical weight loss of a few pounds may not add or cause loss in wealth, but loss of considerable weight is positively associated with increased money flow.
The researchers have interviewed 7,300 people repeatedly between the years 1985 and 2000 and found out that one unit increase in the body mass index of a person may lead to 8% reduction in wealth. However, the research also showed that the results varied greatly according to the ethnic origin and gender as well.
