Prayer Can Help In Recoverty of Heart Patients

Prayers can help heart patients in the recovery process according to a report published by researchers at Duke University Medical Centre. Researchers said cardiac patients using the prayer as a therapy showed a reduction death, heart failure, post-procedural ischemia or heart attack,than those without such therapies.

150 patients from April 1997 to April 1998 with symptoms of acute coronary ischemia. All the patients were scheduled for invasive cardiac procedures based on their clinical needs.The patients were assigned to coronary stenting with therapies such as guided imagery, stress relaxation, healing touch or intercessory prayer.Those receiving such treatments "had lower absolute complication rates and a lower absolute incidence of post-procedural ischemia during hospitalization," the researchers concluded.
