The Korean researchers, along with researchers from University of Pittsberg, had emptied the DNA rom the eggs donated by volunteers and transferred the DNA from the skin cells of the patients into them to clone the stem cells. The researchers feel that the age of the donor of the egg is important for such procedures to be successful.

Although it may be a long way from cloned stem cell lines to creating matching orgns for transplant in the patint's body, scientists of the world feel that this may be the first step towards it. .

The research comes out in the latest edition of journal Science..
