The medication provides topical effect to systematic activity in extensive hepatic metabolism. A maintenance treatment for asthma suffering children in the age group of 12 yrs and above, the drug may also be used for adult patients who require oral corticosteroids. These patients will require lesser doses of corticosteroids or stopping of the steroid based treatment after the start of the treatment with Asmanex Twisthaler. However, as a side effect of the treatment, usage of the inhaler may cause allergic reactions like rhinitis, conjunctivitis, and eczema that were previously suppressed by the corticosteroid treatment.
