In a new reflection on the dangers currently gripping humanity, Cuban President Fidel Castro called for governments of the world to invest in public health and not arms.
The non-profit exercise of medicine is capable of gaining any noble heart, said Castro in his recent article broadcast Tuesday by the island's mass media.In his feature, Castro condemned the construction of a "wonderful submarine" in Great Britain, which can shoot down lethal Tomahawk missiles at a distance of 1.4 miles.
"This ship," he said, "will undermine what little prestige is left for Great Britain." "The holocaust of the species is precisely the destination of that sophisticated ship," noted the Cuba head of State in his article entitled "The English submarine."
The president criticized the investment of billions of dollars on this device, which can sail without refuelling for 25 years.
Castro stressed that with the $7.5 billion dollars to be used to build this warship, that country could train nearly 75,000 physicians, care for 150 million people and build 3,000 clinics with new technologies, as Cuba does in other countries.
According to Castro, the English submarine illustrates the sophisticated weapons with which that country aspires to maintain the unsustainable development order by the US imperial system.
