According to confirmation received from The Ministry of Health in Egypt, a 15-year-old girl has succumbed to bird flu infection on 10th of April. The girl hailing from Cairo Governate was sick with symptoms of bird flu. She was admitted to a hospital but did not survive the infection.

In Egypt, nearly 34 humans have been infected with bird flu of the virulent H5N1 strain.

Scientists have constantly voiced their concerns about the lethal H5N1 strain. They fear it could mutate and take on an easily transmissible form. If that happens, it would be nothing short of a pandemic, and many humans could die due to the outbreak.
