A path breaking research published today seems to have taken women empowerment to great lengths. Now, women will be able to manufacture their own sperms. Lesbian couples need not be childless anymore, the research promises.
Researchers have applied for permission to generate synthetic sperm cells from bone marrow tissue of women. Whether this move will be ethical is a question that researchers are pondering over.The research has demonstrated that it is possible to generate sperm cells from bone-marrow tissue of men. If it is possible with men, it should apply to women as well, contend researchers. This may be good news for those men who are grappling with problems of infertility and are unable to produce their own sperms.
Evidently, producing sperms from women would mean, they will only have daughters. The Y chromosome is only present in men. Yet, this research promises to strengthen the all woman team, with female offsprings.
