World Kidney day is a grim reminder of the penetration of kidney diseases worldwide. According to statistics, nearly 500 million adults world over are in the throes of kidney related ailments.

Reputed nephrologists emphasized, that the best way to avoid kidney transplant is to detect the disease early. Kidney transplant and dialysis is simply unaffordable for majority of the people in developing nations.

Uncomplicated urine tests and blood tests can give a hint of what is going wrong, doctors confirmed. It is important the public is made aware of the disease so that they could under go periodical medical check-ups.

On World Kidney say, many free health screening programmes were organized to identify kidney disease, hypertension, diabetes, and heart problems.
