A four-decade long study has come out in support of the adage that a little bit of wine is good for your health. Dutch researchers examined around 1500 men who took alcohol and followed them for 40 years.
They have concluded that while drinking less than a glass of alcohol is associated with lower rates of death from cardiovascular causes and others, drinking just half a glass of wine daily is linked with the lowest rates of deaths. Wine drinkers were found to live an average of 3.8 years longer than those who drank no alcohol.
