Earthquake in Tehran,Iran, has injured at least 35 people who need medical treatment. Several bulidings were destroyed when a moderate quake measuring 4.8 on Richter scale hit Iran's Lorestan province Wednesday.

The epicentre of the quake, which occurred at 2 a.m., was at Daroud city in west Iran, said an official of the city governor's office.

The shards of glass from broken windows and a stampede due to widespread panic caused the injuries, the official said. No deaths were reported.
