Vitamin supplements and low fat dairy products in Britain have come under a scanner due to a research finding which was published in The Journal of the American Medical Association.

According to this finding consumption of vitamin pills for a prolonged period may actually increase the mortality rate by 5% and low fat dairy may hamper the chances of conceiving in women. The researchers from Copenhagen University Hospital conducted this exhaustive study on 200,000 people before arriving at a conclusion.

Till date it was believed that vitamins A, E and beta carotene could have a positive impact on human beings against heart disease and cancer. But this study contradicts the existing theory totally.

Scientists from Harvard Medical School carried out another study which was published in the journal Human Reproduction. This discusses the impact of low fat dairy on women planning to conceive. As per this finding, dairy which is devoid of cream and fat brings about failure in ovulation. They also claim that low fat dairy is responsible for infertility in 12 to 15% cases. On the other hand, fewer cases of infertility in women was recorded where they consumed high fat dairy products.
