A general practitioner who was accused of prescribing addictive drugs to patients over the internet has been criticized by the General Medical Council.
Dr. Julien Eden who runs an online medical service e-med.co.uk is charged with a list of accusations like prescribing sixty sedatives to a teenager with a history of psychiatric disorder. The boy consumed an overdose of the same drugs later.The General Medical Council (GMC) is considering withdrawal of license for Dr. Eden to practice. They termed his attitude as highly inconsiderate and casual with no respect to the patient. The council will come to a decision regarding the sanctions to be enforced on the doctor soon.
