A woman, who was given an ‘all clear’ report after a breast scan, has died due to the disease. This has raised many eyebrows in the medical community and caused outrage among patients. Apparently, the radiologist had misinterpreted the results of the breast scan.
Consultant radiologist Amjad Husien, who was held responsible for this mistake, has been suspended and is going through a General Medical Council Investigation.Following this, nearly 2500 mammograms are being reviewed at the Trafford General Hospital and North Manchester General Hospital, in Greater Manchester.
A report regarding this scandal was published by the NHS North West and Report author Professor Mark Baker has pointed a finger at Mr. Husien, while also blaming the existing weaknesses in the systems at Trafford NHS Trust".
