Millions of children around the world more so in Africa have been benefited by GAVI (Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization) programmes. This programme enables the children to receive vaccines at a reduced price.
This was revealed by Microsoft founder Bill Gates at the World Economic Forum which was held last week at Switzerland. According to him, the availability of vaccines at a reduced rate is a boon to children from African nations.GAVI has the patronage of seventeen nations across the world. 138 million children were the beneficiaries of this programme for disease like Hepatitis B and yellow fever. According to Mr.Gates, GAVI is sure to touch many lives across the world in the coming years.
