American Heart Journal recently reported a study which states that fat men are able to handle heart attacks better than lean men. This research was conducted by a team of researchers from University of California.
According to this study, when obese men were hospitalized with heart attacks, they were able to recuperate better than thin men. This is said to be due to the presence of fat reserves in their body which is helping them fight their ailment especially at a time when their heart is pumping at a slower pace.
Gregg Fonarow who is leading this research disclosed that nutrient defense may aid patients suffering from cardiac problems.
