Experts on Cloned Animal Meat

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is expected to announce soon the results of its risk assessment of human consumption of meat and milk from some species of cloned animals.

Two experts from the University of Maryland Center for Food, Nutrition, and Agriculture Policy are available to media to comment on the decision and the American public’s attitudes about cloning and the safety of consuming meat and milk from cloned animals.

Gary A. Weaver, DVM, PhD, Esq Director, CFNAP, Program on Agriculture & Animal Health Policy, University of Maryland can comment on the FDA decision, safety of consuming cloned animal products, the science of cloning and Maureen L. Storey, PhD Director, CFNAP, can talk about the recent CFNAP consumer survey on Americans' attitudes about cloning and consuming products from cloned animals.
