The Haryana government Wednesday amended the rules governing the private educational institutions in the state in a bid to regulate them.
The state cabinet decided to adopt the new rules for the betterment of school managements, students and employees, an official said here.
The school managements will now be required to provide adequate infrastructure to students, pay prescribed and timely salaries to teaching and non-teaching staff and adhere to other guidelines of the state's director of education.
The non-government schools will also have to ensure basic standards like good rooms and buildings and proper playgrounds for students, the official said.
The new rules come into effect from April 1.
