Surgeons Gear Up To Carry Out First Womb Transplant
Doctors are getting ready to commence the first ever womb transplant, which they hope will be a successful one. Giuseppe Del Priore, from Downtown Hospital in New York, has been allowed to go ahead with the transplant which has apparently received ample prospective donors.

Recently in October, Dr Del Priore's team was happy with the womb transplant they performed on a rhesus monkey. The monkey was observed for 20 hours, with the new womb receiving adequate blood supply and the monkey coping well with the new entrant. The team is now extremely hopeful of its safety and success, when performed on humans.

But this is not without criticism as many other scientists have expressed that additional research on primates is required before it is tested on humans.
