Inroads into triggers of road rage

by Savitha C Muppala on Nov 7 2006 2:08 PM

Road rage may reveal much more than what meets the eye, thought to be ignited by the abuse of anabolic steroids that lead to abusive and unbecoming behavior, akin to a dormant volcano waiting to erupt.

A study to measure the impact of steroid abuse on patients, with a view to gauging the degree of violent behavior has shown that crime related to the abuse of steroids is often lined to the use of weapons rather than just violent behavior.

According to Fia Klötz, M.D., of Uppsala University steroid abusers were found to be susceptible to committing weapon offences. The researchers also said, contrary to what is often thought, crimes linked to steroid abuse are not committed on an impulse, but is often due to build up of aggressive behaviors related to the abuse of drugs.
