Apollo doctors Summoned in Rahul Mahajan case

A court in Delhi has issued summons against six doctors of Indraprastha Apollo Hospital in N.Delhi. They are chargesheeted by the Delhi Police for destruction of evidence related to Rahul Mahajan drug abuse case.

The Six doctors include -- Anupam Sibal, Prasad Rao, Awdesh Bansal, Mukund Pandey, Ali Mohammed Ganai and Abha Gupta. Six other staff of the hospital were also directed to appear in person before the court on 12th January next year.

The summon was issued by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamini Lau who directed police to invoke relevant provisions regarding fabrication of evidence and giving false information to a public servant under Sections 193 under section 177 of the IPC.

Delhi Police on Wednesday had filed a chargesheet accusing Apollo Hospital's Management and its doctors of deliberately trying to mislead the probe into alleged drug abuse by Rahul Mahajan. The chargesheet filed before the Additional Chief Meteropolitan Magistrate alleged that the private hospital and its six doctors, at the instance of a close acquaintance of the family of late BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, committed the offence to save Rahul.
