The modest leafy CABBAGE is thought to be holding a world of cures tucked in its many layers. Researchers have been sprouting optimistic statements, about the right ingredients needed to nip breast cancer cells in the bud!

The medicinal qualities have been discovered in the compound called indole-3-carbinol (I3C), found in green vegetables such as cabbage and Brussels sprouts, annihilates cancer cells when combined with conventional chemotherapy drugs. By causing certain changes in the cells and enhancing their reaction to anti-cancer drugs, the compound in these vegetables could be used to supplement the anti -cancer treatment.
