The medicinal qualities have been discovered in the compound called indole-3-carbinol (I3C), found in green vegetables such as cabbage and Brussels sprouts, annihilates cancer cells when combined with conventional chemotherapy drugs. By causing certain changes in the cells and enhancing their reaction to anti-cancer drugs, the compound in these vegetables could be used to supplement the anti -cancer treatment.
