Botulism Toxin in Carrot Juice Paralyses Two Canadians

Toronto- Health Officials have alerted the public about toxic carrot juice supplied by Bolthouse Farms, which has caused paralysis in 2 Canadians due to the contamination caused by the botulism toxin.

Despite the recall of the product by Bolthouse Farms, nearly 10 Toronto Businesses continued to house the product on its shelves. In the United States nearly four were hospitalized after consuming the juice, allegedly procured from Toronto.

Bolthouse Farms 100 percent Carrot Juice, Earthbound Farm Organic Carrot Juice and President's Choice Organics 100 percent Pure Carrot Juice, carrying a best-before date of Nov. 11 has been recalled from the market following its link to the botulism toxin.

The media has issued a warning to all consumers to stay away from the juice and throw away remaining stock.
