Singapore - The accomplishments of Thailand and Cambodia in the Aids prevention initiatives have been applauded, which has been achieved primarily through the extensive use of condoms.

Professor K. Satkunantham, the director of medical service at Singapore's Ministry of Health, said "The 100 per cent condom use programmes in Thailand and Cambodia are two prominent examples of successful prevention efforts."

In the 25 years of the existence of the pandemic, it has left valuable information that countries can learn from to evolve better strategies in AIDS/HIV prevention. Dedicated and consistent efforts on the part of many countries have brought about tangible results in the prevention of disease, and in reducing the mortality rates due to AIDS/HIV.
