Food Rich in High Carbohydrate, Effective in Maintaining the Weight Loss
The study was conducted by the University of Melbourne research dietician Liz Delbridge and her team. She studied about 173 obese people for a period of 12 weeks.
She and her team of researchers in the end concluded that people on diets high in slowly digested carbohydrates and low in saturated fat were able to successfully lose weight and maintain it. The participants were put a on low-energy weight loss diet followed by a high carbohydrate or high protein diet to maintain their weight. The research was mainly done to see if the type of diet people adopted after weight loss influenced their ability to maintain body weight.
