Junior Doctors In Madhya Pradesh Strike Work
Junior doctors observed a day's strike in Madhya Pradesh today in protest against dismissal of AIIMS director P Venugopal.

In the state capital, junior doctors observed a `symbolic' strike and a large number of them shouted slogans near Hamidia Hospital for some time condemning the sacking of Venugopal.

Terming Venugopal's removal as "arbitrary and inappropriate" the medicos said the strike was "symbolic and we have no intention to cause any hardship to the patients".

In Indore, the strike affected patients at the state's biggest M Y Hospital as many of them were unaware of the stir by the junior doctors.

Junior Doctors' Association (JDA) state General Secretary Anand Rai told PTI in Indore that the strike was total in Indore, Bhopal and Gwalior, while junior doctors in Jabalpur and Rewa plan to strike work tomorrow.
