Israeli university scientists have discovered a method to cease the blood supply to cancer cells, which may result in curbing the spread of cancer. This, if proved conclusively, will infuse a new lease of life to cancer patients.

According to the scientists, a protein, discovered while conducting a research on fruits, is capable of stopping the blood supply to tumors, thus killing them naturally.

The researchers said “By blocking the blood supply to the tumors, actibind halted the ability of malignant cells to move through the blood stream. Their approach has been shown to inhibit the malignant cells without affecting normal cells and without the severe side effects of traditional treatments such as radiation and chemotherapy."

This has aroused the curiosity of many other scientists due to the promise it holds for the multitude of cancer patients.
