Flu outbreak imminent in Australia.

Influenza specialist group has warned of an impending flu outburst in Australia over the next few weeks, so people will do well do get vaccinated. With New Zealand already facing the flu onslaught, experts feel that it is only a matter of time before it penetrates Australia.

Vaccinations usually take about a fortnight to start working. Those with health conditions like heart disease, asthma, diabetes, etc are highly susceptible to flu attacks of a virulent form and hence should protect themselves with vaccination. GP’s have been advised about the benefits of prescribing antiviral medication to those patients who come down with flu.
