British pediatricians urge parents to administer MMR to children

MMR vaccine has been shrouded in controversy. Now, Britain's reputed pediatricians, nearly 30 of them have called for an end to the raging debates over this vaccine. Infact they have issued a letter to the public that warns of a threat to young lives by forsaking the triple shots of MMR.

They have appealed to the politicians, healthcare experts and the media to defuse the entire furore over the supposed link between MMR and autism, especially since there is enough proof to substantiate the safety of the vaccine.

The letter from the child health experts says, "We are now faced with a potentially serious situation. Years of low uptake mean large numbers of unprotected children are now entering school. Unless this is rectified urgently, and children are immunized, there will be further outbreaks and we will see more unnecessary deaths. It is not too late to avert this predictable tragedy. It is time that due weight is given to the overwhelming body of scientific evidence in favor of the vaccine."
