Youngsters and children in Canada lead a healthy life as they have access to good food, clean water and proper medical attention. But in case of poor families this rosy scenario does not exist. Public policies and programs often fail to reflect important knowledge about what works to help all children do the best they can. But experts in Canada work towards the well being of kids. Hence the Health Council of Canada decided to publish a report that dwells upon a wide range of health issues pertaining to kids such as immunization, obesity risks, mental health and crime prevention.
It discusses these issues with experts who propose different policies and programs for the success of the children. Children and youth deserve society's attention. One has to invest in nurturing healthy, competent, productive citizens for a better tomorrow. The different issues are providing immunization coverage to children in low-income families, optimization of investments in the child and youth health care facilities. In case of the program called Toronto First Duty child care, kindergarten, preventive health services for kids, and support services for parents are provided under one roof. The health officials have to deliver services in the right place and support children and families in a more collaborative, integrated way.
