Lai Chiu Tang who is pursuing her studies at London's Brunel University had designed a device which reminds women to take their contraceptive pills . She says that it is an electronic device which would help prevent unwanted pregnancies. It also advises users what to do if they have forgotten to take their pill.

It glows red if the user’s level of protection is very low. According to statistics researchers have found that 70% of women forget to take one a month, and 10% forget it at least four times. It reminds the time and the number of pill the user has to take each day for a period of one month.

It has four different choice of alerts modes an alarm, a vibrate mode, a light, or a dual alarm/vibrate mode. Lai Chiu, from Dartford, said that her main aim to design the device was to encouraging people to take the pill correctly and regularly so they're continually protected against pregnancies. Paul Turnock, design director of Brunel's School of Engineering and Design, said that the student’s device would help women take the pill at just the right time.
