Saket Hospital to get Multi-speciality Facilities from Max Healthcare
Max Healthcare Thursday opened its sixth hospital in the capital to offer multi-speciality facilities under one roof.

Together with the new 200-bed Max Super Speciality Hospital, the Saket hospital complex of Max will now offer 450 bed facility along with the most advanced neurosurgery department equipped with Asia's the first Brain Suite.

'Except oncology, the Max hospital complex at Saket will offer all super-speciality care. We may add the oncology department in one year has got permission to add more built-up area here,' Analjit Singh, chairman of Max Healthcare told reporters.

Max Healthcare currently has a patient profile of 350,000 people, with 95 percent seeking primary care for minor ailments.

Addressing the need for a comprehensive health insurance plan, Max Healthcare is working on a proposal that would not need hospitalisation to avail of monetary benefits.

'Within 60 days we will have finalised plans to offer a comprehensive health insurance plan - Max Health Insurance Plan - for both in and out patients,' disclosed Singh.

On the new facility, he said the neurosurgery department and Brian Suite, which has a magnetic resonance (MR) image analysis tool designed for helping neurosurgeons to get real-time images during removal of tumour, have been set up with an investment of $2 million.

The Brain Suite is expected to be a boon in cases of 'complicated brain tumours that are buried deep or positioned near the spinal cord (and) are difficult to remove,' said A.N. Jha, director neurosurgery Max Super Speciality Hospital.

Positioning itself initially as the leading hospital group in the national capital region, Max Healthcare will have invested Rs.6.25 billion with the opening of its seventh hospital in Gurgaon next year and expansion of the Patparganj hospital.

'Over the next five years we plan to invest another Rs.6 billion to expand our facilities in the national capital region and are seriously contemplating expanding to other cities in the northern region,' Narottam Puri, executive director (medical services) Max Healthcare told IANS.
