Without any research being done on the ecology, blaming wild birds, as the cause of H5N1 virus or bird flu virus was proof less , says UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).
A dreadful disease caused by viruses leads to Avian flu. Since it can be mutated it can even infect and deaths in poultry and humans.FAO’s chief veterinary officer, Joseph Domenech, reported that more studies has to be done regarding bird flu in future years, but now to control its rapid spread, FAO needs $308 million (P16.3 billion) for the global program and for the significant control of avian flu in the coming three years.
Serious concern that created international interest was emerged about possibility of avian flu hitting human populations and also its effect on poultry and other animals – FAO reports. Thus needs more efforts to eradicate the flu were wild birds had most often been identified as the culprits.
Due to human activities like poultry production and distribution, improper hygiene and uncontrolled commercialization, the disease was likely to spread, says UN agency.
