Second Android Developed By Koreans

A female android was developed by South Korean scientist Baeg Moon-hong. He is a senior researcher at the Korea Institute of Industrial Technology. The android is named EveR-1. It was show cased in an exhibition at the Seoul Education Culture Center. It weighed about 50 kilograms and is 1.6 meters tall. The special features are that it can understand others, speak, blink with her eyes and makes several facial expressions.

The first android was made by the Japanese. The Korea Times has called EveR-1 an amalgam of Eve and robot. It resembles a Korean female in her early 20s. Baeg invested 3 billion won in a time period of 12 months and developed EveR-1. He plans to make a few changes by the end of this year so that she can move four limbs. As of EveR-1 can be employed as a guide robot at museums and department stores or as an educational model to read books to children.
