3000 Delegates to Participate in The Annual Conference on Diabetes in Ahmedabad

During the run up to the four day annual conference on Diabetes organized by the Research Society for the Study of Diabetes in India, Dr. V. Mohan, a leading diabetes expert from Chennai and Chairman of Scientific Committee of RSSDI 2009 spoke about the dismal statistics of diabetes in India.

Apparently, India which has the highest numbers of diabetics in the world will be home to about 51 million diabetics by 2010 and slated to touch 80 million by 2030.

Three thousand delegates including foreign scientists, faculty members and medical experts will participate in the conference. Nearly 100 research papers will be presented during the conference.

Discussions will be held on subjects like stem cell therapies for diabetes.

According to the Dr Mayur Patel, a leading diabetes expert and organizing chairman of RSSDI 2009, a complete program for simple diagnosis and treatment of diabetes will also be presented during the meet.
