Twins Delight for Couple Who Spent 25 Years and £100000 on IVF

After waiting for 25 years and spending almost 100,000 pounds, a couple in Britain have finally become parents to twins.

Neil and Monique Ward married in 1985, but they were left childless as the husband suffered from a low sperm count.

Determined to have a baby they started a process on the NHS where sperm is put directly into the uterus through a catheter.

However, eight attempts later they realized it was fruitless. o, they chose to do IVF and spent 12,000 pounds on three unsuccessful attempts.

Again, four years later they tried a different IVF technique, with Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection at a cost of 5,000 pounds a treatment, but all failed.

Finally, in 2008 they found the IVI Fertility Clinic in Valencia, Spain, where donor eggs and sperm were put directly into Monique's uterus.

Even though their first attempt was a failure, Monique became pregnant five months later.

Monique delivered twins by Caesarean section at Stafford District Hospital on December 29 last year.

"When I held them for the first time my eyes just filled up with tears. We have both wanted this for so long now it seemed unreal everything had finally come true for us," the Telegraph quoted her as saying.

She added: "They're our little miracles - both are perfectly healthy and neither of us can believe they are really here. We have been trying for a baby for what seems like a lifetime.

"Now we're just looking forward to the next 25 years of happiness bringing them up."

The couple have named the kids Benjamin and Walker.
