The foetus of an undeveloped twin from the stomach of a nine-year-old Greek girl was removed on Thursday by Greek surgeons.
In a rare medical case, the girl had grown up with the six-centimetre (two-inch) foetus inside her undetected until recently.Doctors at the hospital at Larissa said the girl had recovered with no problems from the operation to remove what is known as a "parasite foetus".
