“Tough” Employees in Demand During Stressful Economic Times
The global economic slowdown has made employers rethink their criteria when recruiting new staff with a new survey revealing that majority of the employers are looking for staff who are tough and resilient and can handle stress.
Almost half of the employers surveyed by recruitment firm Hudson say that adverse economic conditions have affected the attributes they're looking for in high-performing staff.

They were now looking for staff with qualities like openness to change, resilience to stress and perseverance.

Hudson Asia-Pacific chief executive Mark Steyn said that staff with those qualities would be in high-demand.

"Many employers believe the tough economic environment has changed the skills their people need to be high performers," News.com.au quoted Mr Steyn as saying in a statement.

"Being resilient and open to change are now among the most desirable attributes - people with these qualities are in demand regardless of hiring sentiment," he said.

For the study, Hudson surveyed 3,832 Australian employers about their hiring intentions for the September quarter.
