Too Many White Characters in Books Might Put Off Kids
Children's laureate Malorie Blackman has said that kids might not be interested in reading because there are very few black characters in them.
The 52-year-old Brit author told Sky News that non-white readers might feel excluded from society, because they were not represented in the literature due to lack of diversity.

She said that according to her they needed more commissioning editors, and editors who are people of color, especially in publishing.

Novelist Nikita Lalwani asserted that the children reading the books were not going to be having that anxiety or thinking about being alienated.
