Third Round of National Level School-Based Deworming in Delhi on April 16, 2015

Intestinal worms are debilitating, widespread, and under-treated in India. They can cause abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal bloating or weight loss. Treatment of intestinal worms is done by administering a deworming or anthelmintic drug to get rid of parasites, such as roundworm, flukes and tapeworm. School based deworming is safe and cost-effective. The Delhi government will carry out the third round of national deworming on April 16, 2015.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisoddia will flag off the program on April 15 at Government Co-education Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in New Multan Nagar.
