The White House has recently hired the first transgender staff member, Raffi Freedman-Gurspan.

Gurspan will be serving the position of a recruitment director in the White House Office of Presidential Personnel.

However, it is not the first time that Gurspan has made history as she was also the first transgender woman to work in the Massachusetts State House.
