Teens With Emotional Problems can Take to Dance
Dance your blues away may sound clichéd, but its true especially for teens, a new study has found.
Those that are battling mild emotional problems might find relief with dancing, say researchers.

The study conducted by Swedish researchers revealed that even when girls enrolled in dance classes conducted twice a week, there was marked improvement in self-ratings of their health compared to those who did not attend dance classes.

Researchers also found that the improvement felt during the dance classes had lasting effects much after the classes got over.

"Dance is a well-established and popular form of physical activity, particularly for young women. It can provide a supportive environment and an opportunity to enhance low body attitudes and physical self-perceptions. This study points out the role of joyful social physical activity in influencing health," researchers said.
