People who are prone to get acne may be more susceptible to developing certain cancers suggests evidence. Acne maybe linked to increased risk of melanoma and breast cancer.
From hormonal fluctuations to genetic problems, acne can be caused by a number of different factors, and is undoubtedly one of the most dreaded skin conditions, particularly in teens.

According to a study, women with a history of severe acne as a teenager were 44% more likely to develop melanoma. Also they were 17% more likely to developing breast cancer than those with mild or no acne. According to a study in the journal Cancer, hormones which are responsible for acne and breast cancer may also play a role in mole formation and melanoma development.

It maybe advisable for women to be cautious about breast cancer and skin cancer screenings who have a history of acne.
