During a ten week trip to a summer camp in Minnesota, America, she had collapsed after suffering a stroke. The stroke had left her temporarily blind and paralyzed on the left side. Heart broken but determined, she strove to fight back. Doctors blame it on stress as one of the reasons behind the stroke.

After three weeks in a hospital, she recovered and went on to be selected as a finalist in a national beauty pageant. She will now be part of the final event to be held in March.

'Winning the beauty pageant gave me the chance to show what I can achieve and the boost I needed. It shows that bad things can happen to you but with the right attitude and a bit of luck you can overcome anything,' she said ecstatically.
