Teenage Girl's Leg Chopped Off, Virgin Blood Offered to Deity | |

A teenage girl's leg was chopped off and her blood
offered to a deity by two female sorcerers in Bihar's Purnia district
yesterday.
Thirteen-year-old Babli Kumari had gone to the two women believing they would cure her ailing brother. The sorcerers offered gram laced with jaggery and drugs to the girl to eat. When the drugged girl fell unconscious, they took the help of a male aide and cut off her leg with a chopper. Babli's blood was then offered to a deity with the fond hope that worshipping the deity with the blood of a virgin girl would bring fortune, Superintendent of Police, Amit Lodha said.
Both the sorcerers Devi Kumari, Lovely Mahto and the male aide Bablu Mahto have been arrested, the SP said.
The victim of this ghoulish act is now battling for life in Sadar hospital.
