A 17-year old boy who has been paralyzed for nearly all his life following a spinal cord injury after a car accident when he was just 14 months old walked up to the stage to collect his high school diploma.
San Diego's Patrick Ivison had promised all of his friends and relatives that he would walk on stage to collect his diploma after completing his education at Scripps Ranch High School. The 17-year old was accompanied on stage by his trainer, his service dog and a custom walker and was cheered with a standing ovation for every step of the way.
