 Superfoods Promote Weight Loss?
“Superfoods” such as nuts, berries and broccoli, associated with a number of health benefits, are now being linked with weight loss with a number of people stating that they have lost weight since including them in their diet.
The term superfoods was first coined by Dr Steven Pratt back in 2004. Dr Pratt has listed a number of food items including Bluberries, green tea, nuts, broccoli and spinach. Dr Pratt said that he considered three important qualifications before classifying a food item as a superfood.

The three requirements include being easily available to the public, containing nutrients that enhance longevity and have scientific proof that they provide health benefits. Writing on his website, Dr Pratt said that he chose those food items that were low in calories and had high concentrations of essential nutrients.

“Foods containing these nutrients have been proven to help prevent and, in some cases, reverse the well-known effects of aging, including cardiovascular disease, Type II Diabetes, hypertension and certain cancers”, he wrote.
