Study Points to Better Mental Health With LSD
A recent study carried out by scientists at the Norwegian University of Science and Technology revealed the positives of the use of psychedelic drug LSD in boosting people’s emotional health.
An analysis of data from 130,152 people found fewer health worries with the use of psychedelic drugs.

The study which went through peer review process and took into account several control factors found that out of 21,967 of subjects from the analyzed data that reported use of psychedelic drugs for a lifetime, researchers found no marked connection between prolonged use of any psychedelics, lifetime use of specific psychedelics (LSD, psilocybin, mescaline, peyote) and adverse mental health.

In contrast and surprisingly, many cases of psychedelic use were connected to reduced rate of mental health problems.

Lead researcher for the LSD study, Pal-Orjan Johansen, said, “Despite popular perceptions, expert harm assessments have not demonstrated that classical serotonergic psychedelic substances such as LSD, psilocybin, and mescaline are demonstrated to cause chronic mental health problems.”

Teri Krebs, another researcher in this study said, “Everything has some risk: psychedelics can elicit temporary feelings of anxiety and confusion, but accidents leading to serious injury are extremely rare. Over the past 50 years tens of millions of people have used psychedelics and there just is not much evidence of long-term problems.”

This does not mean that victims of depression should indiscriminately pop in a few pills of LSD. More research is required in this field to find if LSD is really beneficial in the long run.
