Study of Twitter Users Across the World

Profile of a typical Twitter user has been revealed. The majority of Tweeters are apparently ladies in their late twenties, sharing the most intimate details of their lives with a small group of friends on their favorite Apple devices, finds survey.

According to analytics firm Beevolve, the 'average Twitter user' is female, speaks English and has about 208 followers. She likes to share information about her family and her fashion sense, and has a very strong preference for the color 'purple'.

In their report, the anatomy of the Twitter user is laid out in handy graphs, allowing the rest of the Internet to get a good look at who's tweeting what, the Daily Mail reports.

In terms of geographic distribution of Twitter user base, the US takes the lead with the highest number of Twitter users, followed by the United Kingdom, the survey found.

The survey showed that Purple is the most sought after profile color by females, while dark themes dominates the male profile, with steel grey winning the majority. The color most popular with female is the least with men.

The report also highlighted that female users talk more about family and fashion whereas the Twitter male users prefer technology, sports and entrepreneurship
