Stomach Fat Used to Repair Skull
A 32-year old man, who had a part of his skull removed after a fall, underwent a surgery at King's College Hospital where the doctors repaired the damage using stomach fat.
Tim Barter from Brixton, London, suffered an accident in 2009 when he was climbing up the drainpipe of his house after finding himself locked out. The drainpipe collapsed and Barter fell down 25 feet, suffering from brain hemorrhage which necessitated removing part of his skull.

That surgery gave an impression of a “dent” on the right side of his head where the doctors had fitted a titanium plate while the doctors injected stomach fat to “fill out the concavity that had appeared through the slump of inactive muscle.”

Barter said that he has now developed a love for adventure sports and has indulged in wall climbing and kayaking while his current passion is skydiving. “I love the falling. It's just the split second at the end that's an occasional problem”, he said.
